Is it possible to manage my clients independently?

Yes. When you create an account in Guarnic, you can generate as many clients as you need. Each client is independent of the others; you only need to select the one you want to work with, and you will be able to see the information for that particular objective. The selection is made in the menu bar located in the upper right corner. For example, we choose to manage the «Test» client. Important note: Before making changes, always verify that the selected client is correct.

What is an NFC/RFID tag?

An NFC/RFID tag is a sticker associated with an NFC/RFID checkpoint. We call NFC/RFID the near-field data transmission technology. At Guarnic, we use it to obtain the location of the checkpoint (that is, of the NFC/RFID tag).

Can I manage the events?

Yes. Guarnic allows you to replace the traditional logbook. Events enable the guard to notify the central station of a suspicious or unusual occurrence during their patrol. The central station receives the notification immediately in the Events menu, and it is recorded in the database. They also present an alternative to the traditional guard notebook and offer massive memory storage and history in digital format to record all types of eventualities. From the Guarnic Guard App, the guard has the option to transmit events that are logged at the central station. In order to facilitate their management, each event can be categorized. It is possible to create custom statuses with colors, for example, open, closed, in progress, or maximum alert. In a simple and fast way, tags can also be created and associated. All of this allows for effective management.

What is a panic button?

The panic button is an emergency alarm that is activated directly from your cell phone. By pressing this button, an alert is generated, which is received by the guards and the Monitoring Station to immediately respond to the emergency.

How does the panic button work?

When activated, the app sends a real-time alert to all available guards and the monitoring station. They can view the location of the person in an emergency on the map and coordinate the response immediately, drastically reducing response time.

How many guards can use a license?

That will depend on the company hiring the service; Guarnic considers that at least 2 guards use the same license. Important note: the same license cannot be used simultaneously since it is associated with a physical mobile device. At the end of their shift, the guard must hand over the cell phone to the guard of the next shift.

What is a guard license and what is it used for?

It is the activation of the Guarnic service on a single cell phone, which is handed over to the guard on duty. The license allows the monitoring station to assign tasks, routes, and patrols, as well as to have real-time control over the guard’s performance, receiving alerts in case of any non-compliance on their part. It also enables constant and effective communication between the guard and the central station through the creation of events.

Can I use my own brand on the platform?

Yes. We offer the Branding Service or White Label, which allows you to use our platform with your own company’s logos. This way, we give you the opportunity to be a provider of our solution.

What type of map do you use?

The maps we use for location are Google Maps.

What types of checkpoints can I use?

You can combine three types: GPS to validate presence via geofencing, QR to scan a physical label at the point, and NFC to bring the phone close to a tag installed on site. You can mix the three types within the same route depending on the conditions of each checkpoint.

Where can I buy the NFC/RFID tags?

Guarnic does not charge per configured tag, nor do we sell them. Our clients are free to purchase and configure all the tags they need in 2 simple steps. Having clarified that, the easiest and most economical place to buy them is on Chinese online retail websites.

What type of cell phones do I need?

The guard cell phones must have the following characteristics:

Android Operating System version 3.0+
GPS
NFC (Only if you need to use RFID-based patrols)

The supported cell phones for panic button users are:

iPhone iOS 7 or higher.
Android 2.2 or higher.
Blackberry lower than OS10. We do not support OS10 due to low market penetration and the fact that Blackberry migrated to Android.

Is it possible to grant restricted access to other people?

Yes. Through the creation of profiles and roles, the account administrator can determine the level of access granted to each person. In addition, you can create as many profiles as you wish at no cost.

Does the GPS work indoors?

GPS does not work in enclosed spaces. In any case, the route can be validated up to the point where the GPS signal is lost. The system generates an automatic alert indicating that the GPS cannot obtain an accurate position. For patrols covering confined spaces such as buildings, warehouses, or basements, it is necessary to use RFID (NFC) checkpoints.

What is the accuracy of the GPS?

Very accurate. Guarnic achieves an average accuracy of between 5 and 15 meters. The product has a policy of avoiding the publication of inaccurate locations; if it is not possible to register the location accurately, a real-time alert is generated indicating that the cell phone cannot obtain an acceptable position, instead of sending incorrect positions. Furthermore, each location report includes the accuracy in meters for every single point, so that the margin of error remains perfectly clear.

Do the guards' cell phones need Internet?

It depends on how it is used. In any case, they need an internet connection at the moment of logging in. After that, they can work 100% offline. To explain this, we will use two examples. In the first one, the guard has WiFi only at the entrance, and in the second one, they have connectivity throughout the entire territory.

Example 1: Cell phone without a 3G chip but with WiFi at the entrance: Step 1: While connected to WiFi, the person who will be working logs into the cell phone by selecting their user and typing their password. Step 2: In a matter of seconds, the cell phone receives all the tasks and patrols to be completed at that time. Step 3: The person goes out to perform their job, remaining without a connection for the rest of the workday. All completed patrols, movements, events, and any other generated information will be stored right on the cell phone. Step 4: At the end of the day, they return to the area where the WiFi is located, at which point the system automatically uploads all the information collected during the day. Advantage: Zero connectivity cost. Disadvantage: Information is not registered in real time.
Example 2: Cell phone with a 3G chip or WiFi throughout the entire territory. Step 1: The person logs in from anywhere. Step 2: As they complete their tasks, all information is reflected in real time. Additionally, they can receive tasks directly on the cell phone. Advantage: All information is registered in real time. Disadvantage: In most cases, it is necessary to have a mobile carrier SIM card for the connection.

How long does the battery of the guards' cell phones last?

Each cell phone model has a different battery life depending on the size of its battery. In any case, on average, with the GPS turned on, batteries last approximately 10 hours. You can verify the battery drain with intuitive charts in the battery report: Guards Menu > Battery Report.
